"Aequanimitas" is the very book must be read by all the medical students all over the world! The spirits of Osler is in this book, and will be in all the mind of the students who read it.
This edition of Osler's Aequanimitas by General Books LLC is a complete disaster! It looks like the publishers simply took some version of Osler's work created on a text-recognition scan of an old book and put it between covers, without even a cursory edit of the result. First of all, there is no proper table of contents, the different essays just start and stop within the text without so much as a title, a page break and in some cases even a paragraph break! Second, the book is a mess of typos, and I mean terrible typos, virtually on every line. There are errors in spelling ("Robert Lotus Stevenson") consistent punctuation/formatting errors (random characters, no doubt representing punctuation the scanner couldn't recognize, are strewn throughout the text), even multiple paragraph breaks in the middle of a sentence! I can tolerate the occasional mistake but I was driven to distraction by the number of errors. Third, there appear to be essays missing, although it is difficult to confirm the contents of the book for sure since there is no table of contents.
Incidentally, the version of the book that I got looks nothing the "Look Inside" version displayed on , which is an actual scan of the original book pages. The version I received has a modern typeface and content that appears to be derived from a text-recognition scan of the original book, but without a human even bothering to look at the error-riddled result. I have been a faithful customer of for over ten years but I am appalled by the complete absence of quality control they imposed on this publisher. What's next, classics of foreign-language literature by machine translation?

This *used* to be an excellent gift edition of Aequanimitas, with a matte leatherette cover and nice paper stock. However, they've switched to MUCH cheaper materials, including a too-shiny, plasticky laminated cover and flimsy paper stock. This used to be a steal at $80. Now, it's a ripoff at $60. If I'd known how severely they'd scaled back their materials, I wouldn't have even considered this as a gift purchase. Not even at $10. Or free. Looks terrible and cheap.

This book which I recieved was a photocopied version of the original copy, I requested for a replacement and received a similar book. Quality was too bad and not readable, most of the pages were blank and few pages were missing. I would not recommend anyone to order this from . Very disappointed!
